We are looking for a proactive Payroll Manager to manage comprehensive end-to-end payroll processing in the Philippines. (Cebu & Manila)

Responsibilities

  • Employee Records Management: Receive data for all employees and update them in the payroll system. Maintain and update personal details, salary adjustments, employees' loans, and other company or employment-related deductions throughout their employment.
  • Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate and process payroll for employees, including but not limited to regular pay, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Government Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR), reviews and submit reports and remittances on time.
  • Payroll Reconciliation and Employee Inquiries: Reconcile payroll accounts, resolve any discrepancies or issues, and provide timely and clear responses to all employee questions regarding salary, deductions, payslips, attendance, benefits, and system-related issues
  • Timekeeping: Monitor and verify timekeeping records, ensuring accuracy in time logs and attendance reports.
  • Tax Compliance: Compute and process income tax withholdings, and prepare and submit tax returns in compliance with BIR regulations.
  • Audit and Reporting: Prepare payroll reports and assist in audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs, including but not limited to calculating and releasing of approved company and government-mandated benefits, enrollment and updating information in coordination with HR.
  • Transaction Terminations: Calculate and process employee terminations, ensuring accurate and compliant final payments and forms.
  • Process and Policy Implementation: Implements payroll and benefits administration policies and processes.  
  • Team Coordination: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll and benefits processing across both teams in Manila and Cebu.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary payroll data and documentation.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data and payroll information.
  • Compliance and System Alignment: Consistently ensure that payroll processes and system configurations remain fully compliant with Philippine legal requirements and are accurately aligned with company policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience in managing comprehensive end-to-end payroll processing in the Philippines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine payroll laws, taxation, and government regulations, including transaction terminations
  • Experienced in establishing payroll and benefits policies and guidelines 
  • Proficiency in payroll and timekeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling payroll calculations and records
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to handle payroll discrepancies and complex calculations
  • High-level English-speaking and writing skills are essential for interacting with employees and management
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with various teams and stakeholders both within and outside the company, fostering a cooperative work environment
  • Strong human relations skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with employees, management, and external partners
  • Work in a BPO industry or relevant industry is a plus
  • Experience working in a 3rd party payroll provider is a plus
  • Certification in payroll or a related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with timekeeping systems and attendance management
