Be our Guest(y): Half way through: Recapping the first half of 2022 and predicting what’s still to come

If Covid was the catalyst for 2021’s surge in demand for short-term rentals, then 2022 is the tipping point that marks a total seachange in how people travel.

Understanding new traveler trends is key to getting more guests through the door and more revenue in your pocket. Join us for the latest data-driven insights and predictions from industry leaders to help you successfully navigate the second half of 2022.

Keegan Cotton, Director of Customer Success, Americas and APAC at Guesty, began the discussion by covering traveler behaviors and patterns in H1, a period that marked the return of international travel.

Following this, we heard from Melanie Brown, Director of Data and Analytics at Key Data, who showcased various global travel patterns and predictions for H2, taking in to account potential bumps on the road to recovery caused by turbulence in the aviation industry, economic uncertainty, and labor shortages, amongst other factors.

Lastly, we heard from Afonso Salcedo, Co-Founder of Liiiving, a Guesty user based in Portugal, who spoke about shifts and adaptations to their ongoing business strategies to meet the return of travel and surge in demand for short-term and mid-term rentals, which has been boosted by the flock of digital nomads to European countries.
